Can you connect two Gmail accounts to Claude?

Short answer: not both at once. As of July 2026, Claude connects to one Google account at a time, so you can link your personal Gmail or your work Gmail through the connector, but not both Gmail accounts at the same time. Here is why, and four ways to work around it.

Why it happens

One account per connector

Claude reaches your email, calendar, and files through a connector. The Google Workspace connector authenticates one Google account, and Claude can only see the Gmail, Calendar, and Drive data for that single account. Connect a second Gmail and it replaces the first; it does not add to it.

This trips up almost everyone running a personal inbox and a work inbox. It is a current limitation of the connector, not a setting you have missed, and multi-account support is one of the most requested connector features right now. Until it ships, the four options below are how people handle it.

Ranked roughly from simplest to most involved. Most people land on switching accounts or forwarding.

Switch which Google account is connected

Cleanest

You cannot have both connected at once, but swapping takes about a minute, and your Claude memory, projects, and chat history do not change. Only the inbox Claude can see changes.

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
Find your Google connector and click it to open the details.
Click Disconnect, then confirm.
Connect again and sign in with the other Google account.

If you also want to clear it from Google's side, sign in at myaccount.google.com/connections, find the Claude connection, and remove it there.

Forward the mail you need into your connected account

Keep Claude connected to your main Gmail, then forward the messages you want it to see from your second account into that inbox. Add the second address as a send-as so drafts can go out from either name. This is a Gmail setting, not a Claude feature, but it lets Claude read and draft across both without switching.

Forwarding applies going forward, not to your back-catalog. Set a filter so you only forward what matters instead of everything.

Mix providers instead of two Gmails

The one-account limit is per connector. Gmail and Microsoft 365 are separate connectors, so you can connect a Gmail account and an Outlook / Microsoft 365 account at the same time. That does not help two-Gmail setups, but if your personal inbox is Gmail and your work inbox is Microsoft, you can have both live at once.

Paste it in for one-offs

For a single thread from the account Claude is not connected to, copy the email text into the chat. No connector needed. Fine for a one-time reply or analysis; not something you want to do daily.

Need more than one Gmail live inside Claude with no switching? A developer can build a custom connector (an MCP server) that holds multiple accounts. Can I connect two Gmail accounts to Claude at the same time?

No. Claude's Gmail connector links to one Google account at a time. You can connect your personal Gmail or your work Gmail, but not both simultaneously through the connector. To use the other inbox, disconnect the current account and reconnect with the one you need.

How do I switch which Google account Claude is connected to?

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Click your Google connector, click Disconnect, and confirm. Then connect again and sign in with the other Google account. Your Claude memory, projects, and chat history are unaffected.

Does connecting a new Google account delete my projects or chats?

No. Disconnecting and reconnecting a Google account only changes which Gmail, Calendar, and Drive data Claude can access. Your Claude account, memory, projects, and history stay put.

Can I connect Gmail and Microsoft 365 at once?

Yes. The one-account limit is per connector, and Gmail and Microsoft 365 are separate connectors. So you can connect a Gmail account and a Microsoft 365 / Outlook account at the same time, even though you cannot connect two Gmail accounts at once.

Is this different on Claude Team or Enterprise?

The single-account rule is the same. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner has to enable the Google Workspace connectors at the organization level first, and then each person still connects one Google account.

My Google connector is linked but Claude cannot use it. What now?

Open the connectors menu next to the message box and confirm the connector is toggled on for that chat, then ask again. Connectors can be less reliable in the browser than in the Claude desktop app, so if it still will not respond, try the desktop app.
